Job Pay Onboarding Flow
Context: Job Pay is a simple app that helps freelancers and business owners track hours, monitor progress, and bill clients without the complexity. This project was my final exam for the UX Content Collective.
The Problem: Freelancers and Business Owners needed a streamlined onboarding flow that took them from download to project set up
Our Solution: Analyze personas for 2 user bases; Craft onboarding flows for each, keeping in mind brand style guide
The Process: 1) Draft personas for freelancers and Business Owners
2) Identify their pain points
3) Draft flows, test, and iterate
My Role:
Wrote all copy and microcopy for both freelancer and business owner onboarding flow
Developed Job Pay Style guide
Analyzed user personas
The Team:
UX Writer/Content Designer: Audrey Siaw-Asamoah

Head of Design (course instructors)
Impact:
This was a spec project, but the impact came through in creating clear, user-centered flows that solved real-world pain points:
Reduced copy density to keep onboarding screens scannable and distraction-free.
Reinforced brand voice by weaving in “JobPay Tour” and “Pay Day,” ensuring freelancers and business owners alike felt the product was speaking their language.
Designed an onboarding path that addressed both core personas, so each user type immediately understood the value JobPay provides
Delivered a polished final flow that demonstrated my ability to combine UX writing principles with brand storytelling.
Job Pay Style Guide
Before development, I studied the product, personas, and consulted with design leadership in order to lay out our content style guide.
